Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers so you know exactly what to expect.
Can I bring my partner or ex-partner to a session?
Yes. I offer couples counseling in addition to individual therapy. If you feel that bringing a partner or an ex-partner into the session will aid in your recovery or relationship repair, they are absolutely welcome.
Where are you located? Can anyone book a session?
I conduct all sessions virtually, but due to state licensing laws, I can only provide therapy to residents of California.
I am nervous about being on camera. Is video required?
Not at all. While sessions are typically held via Zoom, audio-only calls are completely acceptable. We can treat the session just like a standard phone call if that makes you feel more comfortable.
What are your hours?
I cater specifically to late afternoons and evenings. I know it can be difficult to step away during standard work or school hours, so my schedule is designed to accommodate you.
Is everything I say completely confidential?
Yes, absolute confidentiality is the foundation of therapy. The only legal exceptions to this rule are if there are active threats of self-harm, harm to others, child abuse, dependent adult abuse, or elder abuse.
I prefer not to call to set up an appointment. Can I text you?
Yes. You can communicate with me via text message to set up your appointments or ask initial questions. My goal is to make reaching out as low-friction as possible.
